Lakers' guard Dennis Schroder turned down an $84 million extension earlier in the year with the hopes of signing a larger deal this offseason. While surprising, at the time it seemed plausible that Schroder could play himself into a larger contract.

Since then, however, Schroder hasn't equaled his surprising level of play from last season with the Thunder, leading many fans to the conclusion that he'll be expecting a much smaller contract this offseason. Schroder finished the year averaging 15.5 points and 5.8 assists per game on much lower efficiency than the previous season. It seems that Schroder still believes that he'll be receiving a massive contract, as the German national team reportedly can't afford his insurance due to his contract expectations.

Schroder is reportedly looking for a contract north of $100 million this offseason. With few teams able to sign players to contracts that large, it seems he's setting himself up for a disappointing summer.
