Blazers Have Narrowed Coaching Search Down To 3 Candidates

The Trail Blazers wasted no time in parting ways with head coach Terry Stotts following their second first-round exit in as many years. Blazers' superstar Damian Lillard was quick to make it known that his top choice for the vacancy was the Lakers' Jason Kidd, however, Kidd withdrew his name from consideration shortly thereafter.

Since then, Portland appears to have narrowed the list of potential candidates to Mike D'Antoni, Becky Hammon, and Chauncy Billups. It has been reported that Blazers' owner Jody Allen prefers Becky Hammon, while GM Neil Olshey has a strong preference for Chauncy Billups.

Portland is likely to make a decision in the coming weeks as they complete their final interview rounds, especially as teams have already begun hiring some of the premier coaching candidates.
