Zion Williamson's Family Members Want Him Out Of New Orleans
Certain family members of Zion Williamson want him out of New Orleans and on a different team, according to The Athletic.
The New Orleans Pelicans have failed to make the playoffs in Williamson's first two seasons in the league, and they just recently fired head coach Stan Van Gundy, who was Williamson's second coach in two years.
Going into his third season, Williamson will have another new coach. His family has expressed unhappiness with the organization and were displeased with how Van Gundy was very demanding. Some people believe that these frustrations may be directly coming from Williamson.
Sources around the league have "pointed to the Pelicans as a heap of dysfunction."
Moreover, Williamson was annoyed by the Pelicans' decision to trade J.J. Redick during the trade deadline.
Of course, the Pelicans do not want to lose their cornerstone player and would do anything to keep him. However, they are the organization who failed to bring help for Anthony Davis, which ultimately resulted into his departure. They cannot make the same mistakes again and must find a way to keep their young star happy.
