Cavaliers Have Begun Exploring Trade Market For Collin Sexton

The Cleveland Cavaliers have begun to explore the trade market involving point guard Collin Sexton, according to Jeremy Woo of Sports Illustrated.

In the article posted on his Twitter, Woo mentions that Sexton is eligible for an extension and is expected to demand a maximum contract. Jarrett Allen, 23, is eligible for an extension and is expected to demand a lucrative deal as well.

Sexton led the Cavaliers in scoring this season, averaging 24.3 points, but he has had issues with his teammates, who showed frustrations toward Sexton for dominating the ball too much at times.

Therefore, it's in Cleveland's best interest to move on from Sexton, rather than giving him a massive deal that would hinder their cap flexibility. After all, the Cavaliers own the third pick in this year's draft and could select another guard, which would make Sexton far more expendable.

As of right now, teams haven't shown interest in Sexton, but it wouldn't be surprising if trade talks involving the 22-year-old gain traction closer to the NBA draft set on July 29.
